Teen Think Tanks™ is an innovative process which engages teenagers
in serious discussions about school violence and ways to solve the problem.
Teenagers are a most neglected resource in the fight against school violence.
Educators, politicians,
policemen, psychologists, and sociologists, among others, are talking
and talking about school violence.
But, nobody is asking the kids!

Nobody except Teen Think Tanks of America, Inc.! This non-profit
organization is founded for the express purpose of giving a voice to the
teens of America. We're not talking about a staged press event where
each student is given 3 minutes to make a
speech to the dignitaries present.
Teens spend 2-3 hours in intense, anonymous brainstorming sessions in
front of personal computers using state-of-the-art
electronic meeting software. In these sessions, they combine their
collective thinking and reach conclusions on the best ways to
deal with school violence with supporting action plans for political
leaders and educational administrators to consider.
Every student participates because the sessions are anonymous. Nobody is left out. Hundreds of ideas are generated from which the teens select their best. They then expand on those best ideas and develop action items to deal with or implement those best ideas. A written report is produced that is distributed to community officials and is placed on this web site. You can review reports from several Teen Think Tanks.
Teen Think Tanks have been held in communities from coast to coast and more are planned.

Brice Marsh, the co-founder of Teen Think Tanks is a world-class facilitator at Marshall Space Flight Center, NASA in Huntsville, Alabama. He uses the software almost daily to support the NASA mission. It has been used in the Defense Department. It was used to plan both the 1996 Atlanta Olympics and the 2000 Sydney Olympics. Groupsystems is also used at the Carter Collaboration Center in Atlanta that is founded and operated by former President Jimmy Carter.
